READ YOUR KNITTING/FIX MISTAKES

Knitty Gritty Yarn Girl

Date; Sunday, November 24, 2024

10:00 a.m. - 1200 p.m.

Description: Join designer Jill Tamminen from Knit Sisu in this interactive workshop. You’ll learn how to "read" knitted designs in fabric, anticipate stitches, recognize and fix mistakes, and free yourself from the pattern to become a more confident knitter! Jill will also cover how to BYOD (Be Your Own Designer) in your knitting, exploring how and where to add your own touches and flair to make a pattern uniquely yours.  You will also receive a free copy of one of Knit Sisu's "Technique Shawl" patterns.

Prerequisites: Participants should be confident in basic knitting skills, including casting on, knitting, purling, and binding off.

Optional: Make a swatch beforehand. Using DK yarn (size US 7 needles), cast on 20 sts, work in stockinette stitch (*knit one row, purl one row, repeat from *) for 2”. Do not bind off.

Materials to bring along: Your knitted swatch, still on the needles (see above).

In shop participants: If you have questions about a pattern you are working on, feel free to bring in the piece for Jill's expert input after class.
