LEARN TO KNIT CABLES AT KnittyGrittyYarnGirl
Cables add beautiful dimension to knitted projects and there's never been a better time to learn how to knit cables or improve your stitch skill. Master Knitter, Michelle Mingo Lewis joins KnittyGrittyYarnGirl to teach this program.
Michelle is a Niantic resident and has been knitting for 50 years. She has a master knitting certification from TKGA which she obtained in 2021. She loves to teach and is always willing to help knitters who want to learn new skills!

This program is for advanced beginner - intermediate knitter. You must be knowledgeable and comfortable with cast on, bind of, knit, purl and reading patterns.
Our two-session program takes you through the basics of cables while creating the Woven Cable Headband designed by Priscilla Uloho. You'll learn:
- Cable terminology
- Six-stitch left cable
- Six-stitch right cable
- Cable pattern reading
Here's what you'll get when you register:
- Two sessions with a certified master knitter.
- Printed Pattern
- A skein of worsted or aran weight yarn - Come in before the start date, and choose your favorite yarn and color from the available choices for this project.
- Cable needle
The project is knitted flat and seamed.
You will need US8 (5mm) knitting needles, straight or circular, and a tapestry needle (to seam the headband) not included. Both needles are available for purchase.
Class is limited to 6 students. Registrants beyond 6 will be placed on a wait list. You will be notified this happens.
